2 killed in 3-vehicle accident in Brevard County

A driver and passenger were killed a crash involving three vehicles Monday night in the Titusville area.

The crash was reported at 8:20 p.m. on State Road 407, south of Interstate 95, according to Florida Highway Patrol’s Lt. Kim Montes.

A 27-year-old from Debary was driving a pickup west on SR-407 and traveled into the eastbound lanes for an unknown reason, Montes said.

Meanwhile a sedan driven by 66-year-old woman from New Symrna was traveling in the eastbound lane of SR-407, with a 41-year woman from Cibolo, Texas, in the passenger seat. The pickup struck the front of the sedan.

A third vehicle, not directly involved, drove through the debris after the collision, Montes said.

The two women in the sedan were pronounced dead at the scene, Montes said. The driver of the pickup was seriously injured and flown to Orlando Regional Medical Center, Montes said.

The crash remains under investigation.
