A sign directs Avis customers where to return car rentals at Syracuse Hancock International Airport on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020. Rental car operations have been temporarily moved to the airport’s overflow parking lot.

Starting today, rental car pickups and drop-offs have been moved from the first level of the parking garage to the airport’s overflow parking lot to the north of the garage.

The move will allow the airport to complete improvements to the garage and is expected to last about one month.

“While we understand this temporary relocation is an inconvenience, this project is consistent with our goal to continue to improve the passenger experience for those who fly through SYR,” said airport Executive Director Jason Terreri.

Signage is in place to direct both arriving and departing passengers to the temporary rental car location.
