Police on Thursday released surveillance video of a car in which there was an assailant who stabbed a married couple. The recording shows the vehicle hit a pedestrian in Arlington just after the killing.
A man died after he was slashed during a robbery Wednesday night as he walked with his wife, who also was stabbed, on a street near their home, police said. The stabbings occurred about 9 p.m. in the 6400 block of South Collins Street.
Police believe that the assailant got into a car in which there was at least one other person who was waiting for him.
The video was recorded from a camera at Ousley Junior High School, which is across the street from where the car hit the pedestrian, a 20-year-old woman.
The woman was walking in the 900 block of Southeast Parkway was hit by the assailant’s car as it turned onto Rising Meadows Drive. She was taken to a hospital.
The woman did not get a good look at the sedan, which did not stay at the scene.
The video shows the car stopped and a passenger got out. The woman overheard someone yelling from the car to grab her wallet. The woman did not have a wallet or other belongings with her, police said.
The homicide suspect has not been arrested, and police do not know his name.
Islam Duly, 44, was pronounced dead at a hospital, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office said.
Duly’s wife was treated for serious injuries and released Thursday morning from a hospital, police said.
