Drunk man sleeping in car wanted on warrants for drug trafficking, domestic violence: Shaker Heights Police Blotter

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio

OVI: Newell Road

At 10:55 p.m. Oct. 2, police were called to a home on a report of a suspicious car parked in a resident’s driveway. Officers found a Cleveland man, 44, asleep inside the car, with two open containers of alcoholic beverages at his side.

Police woke the man, who showed signs of intoxication. The man failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for OVI.

A search of the man’s car uncovered marijuana, unidentified pills and suspected narcotics. It was also learned that the man was wanted by Cleveland police on a felony warrant for drug trafficking and by Euclid police on a warrant for domestic violence.

A resident reported Oct. 2 that her wallet was stolen from her unlocked vehicle in her driveway sometime during the overnight hours. The following day, an officer was walking in the area and located the wallet on a neighboring street without the cash and gift cards that the resident said were inside of it.

Officers responded to the parking lot of St. Francis Church Sept. 28 for a report of man on an electric scooter who appeared to need help. Robbery attempt fails at Shell station; men in stolen car crash through parking lot gate: Brook Park police blotter

BROOK PARK, Ohio –

Attempted aggravated robbery: Brookpark Road

An unidentified male, positioning his hand in his pocket to suggest he held a handgun, tried to rob Shell, 13030 Brookpark, at about 11 p.m. Sept. 25.

The male asked a worker in the gas station to give him all the money in the cash register. The worker refused. The male left the gas station and drove away in a gold vehicle.

The male was described as Black, about 6 feet 3 inches tall and 215 pounds. He was wearing a red jacket, a green shirt, khaki shorts and white tennis shoes.

Warrant: Stearns Road

An officer stopped a car at 1:27 a.m. Oct. 4 on Stearns Road since the owner showed an open warrant in Florida. He learned the motorist was driving on a suspended license. Florida authorities told officers they should tell the driver about the warrant as he was out of the pickup radius. The driver was cited and given the option to have a friend take possession of the car rather than have it towed. When the friend arrived, however, she had an open warrant for her arrest through North Olmsted. That city’s police arrived shortly to pick her up. Eventually, enough people – without warrants – arrived and drove the cars away.

Manalapan Police Blotter: Clark Mills Bicycle Theft, Car Theft

MANALAPAN, NJ – Released by Manalapan police and unedited by Patch, all reported arrests from Aug. 5-13:

On Tuesday August 11th, 2020 at approximately 1:36pm, patrols responded to a business in Manalapan for a report of a theft. The business’s security representative related that an employee from a different company tasked with performing inventory duties, unlawfully removed several items from the store. The case is under investigation. Patrolman James Guarino handled the report.

On Monday, August 10th, 2020 at approximately 12:00 pm police responded to a residence on Birmingham Drive for a report of a theft. The resident at this location reported that a child’s bicycle belonging to the minor child of the complainant was removed the prior day from Clark Mills School. The complainant reported the bicycle valued at approximately $100, this incident is
under investigation. The police report was taken by Patrolman Anthony Cascella.

Driver with marijuana shake on his lap and straight face tells officer his vehicle is clean: Broadview Heights Police Blotter

BROADVIEW HEIGHTS, Ohio

Drug abuse, I-77: On Sept. 12, police observed a speeding black Toyota Corolla traveling northbound on I-77.

The officer noted the Toyota’s registration expired in June. While talking to the driver, who said he was going a little too fast to pass other vehicles, the officer smelled marijuana.

In plain sight, the officer saw a glass jar containing residue. When the driver exited the Toyota, the officer observed shake on his lap.

When asked about the odor and the shake, the driver had no idea and stressed there was nothing inside of the Corolla.

During a search of the Toyota, police found marijuana and a scale. Due to the fact the driver didn’t show any signs of impairment, he was released from the scene.

However, the driver did get cited for speeding, expired plates, drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police catch thief in car, bring him back to store to pay for stolen item: Lyndhurst police blotter

LYNDHURST, Ohio — Theft: Cedar Road

At 2:55 p.m. Oct. 2, police were called to Dick’s Sporting Goods, 24545 Cedar Road, at Legacy Village, where it was reported that a male may have stolen a pair of socks, sports tape and gloves. The suspect, after leaving the store, exited Legacy Village in a car that headed east on Cedar Road.

Police located and stopped the car. The suspect, 18, of Maple Heights, was brought back to the store. It was found that he had only stolen a pair of socks. The man paid for the socks, which cost $10.78, and was cited for criminal trespassing.

Confused woman found in someone else’s car; man crashes car into utility pole: Berea police blotter

Trespassing: West Bagley Road

A Norwalk woman, 22, was cited and taken to a hospital at about 5:30 p.m. Sept. 24 after she was found in the driver’s seat of someone else’s car, which was parked outside Berea Farmers Exchange, 394 West Bagley.

The car belonged to a Berea Farmers Exchange worker. The worker asked the woman why she was in her car, which had been unlocked. The woman said the car belonged to her friend, not the worker. The woman then stepped out of the car and walked toward Nam Wah Chinese & Vietnamese Cuisine on West Bagley to use the restroom.

Man arrested for punching his child’s mother while in car: Solon police blotter

SOLON, Ohio — Domestic violence: US 422

At 10:50 a.m. Sept. 29, Solon police aided state highway patrol officers in investigating a stopped car. The investigation revealed that a man, 21, of Warren, punched his girlfriend, 22. Also in the car was the couple’s 1-year-old child.

Police arrested the man and charged him with domestic violence.

Warrant arrest: S.O.M. Center Road

At 9:15 a.m. Sept. 24, an officer stopped a car that had a cracked windshield. It was subsequently learned that the driver, a Cleveland man, 29, was wanted on a Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office warrant.

The man was arrested on the warrant and also cited for marijuana possession, drug paraphernalia possession, driving with a suspended license, and driving an unsafe vehicle.

Domestic dispute: Arthur Road

At 7:25 p.m. Sept. 24, a woman called police when her daughter, 14, grabbed her during an argument. No charges were filed.
