East Bridgewater boy, 10, flown to hospital after falling off bicycle – News – The Enterprise, Brockton, MA

The accident occurred on David Lane, which is off of Washington Street, on Monday afternoon.

EAST BRIDGEWATER — A 10-year-old boy was flown by medical helicopter to a Boston hospital Monday afternoon after suffering serious facial injuries when he fell off his bicycle, officials said.

Police and firefighters responded to David Lane, which is off of Washington Street, at about 2:40 p.m. for a bicycle accident.

A young mother is behind bars in Louisiana, accused of negligent homicide in the hot-car death of her 2-year-old son, according to local news outlets.

Natalie Broussard was arrested on Monday, and is being held with no bond in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center, reports KNOE-TV, KLFY-TV, and KATC-TV.

The Lafayette Parish Coroner’s Office identified the deceased toddler as Ryatt Hensley.

Ryatt died from heatstroke, the autopsy confirmed.

Ryatt was discovered inside a hot vehicle on Sunday afternoon.

The reports fail to indicate how long Ryatt is believed to have been in the vehicle prior to being found.

Police were called to Broussard’s home in Duson on Sunday just before 2 p.m.

She was charged with negligent homicide Monday, following a brief investigation into the boy’s death.

UPDATED at 7 a.m. Wednesday with name of boy who died and additional details from fire official

EDWARDSVILLE — A 14-year-old boy was killed and a 16-year-old boy was injured early Tuesday after two vehicles being chased by police ran off a highway and one submerged in a drainage canal at Interstate 270 and Interstate 255, authorities said.

Wood River police identified the boy who died as Harry Linnen Jr., 14, of St. Louis. Police did not identify the 16-year-old boy who was injured.

Harry drowned after trying to swim away from the vehicle that went into water, and a police officer tried to help but couldn’t get to him, authorities said.
