Car strikes man on Zoom call inside Middleburg Heights building, police chief says

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio — A man is in serious condition after a car crashed into a Middleburg Heights building while he was on a Zoom call, Police Chief Ed Tomba said.

The crash happened shortly before 11 a.m. at Davis & Company CPAs on Pearl Road and Seneca Trail.

A dump truck was trying to make a left into a parking lot on Pearl Road when a car was coming from the opposite direction and struck it in the bumper, Tomba said. It appears the dump truck made too wide of a left turn, he noted.

The driver of the car tried to stop, but instead pressed the gas pedal, crashed into the bumper and flew onto a tree lawn before crashing into the building, Tomba said. The office worker got pinned under the car.

The man on the Zoom call was taken to Southwest General Health Center and later

Call to revive bicycle sharing project gets louder | Coimbatore News

Coimbatore: While the city corporation has put the bicycle sharing project on hold, cycle enthusiasts have urged the civic body to revive the same by putting in place the necessary infrastructure first.
The city corporation had rolled out the project on a pilot basis at RS Puram for three months in 2018. The project, however, could not be implemented at Saibaba Colony and Vadavalli as planned, after the civic body failed to find a suitable bidder to execute the same. As its repeated attempts to find a contractor didn’t yield any results, the civic body had decided to put it on hold.
Guinness P K Kumar, a cycle enthusiast, said if the corporation were to introduce the bicycle sharing system, people would gradually make that a success. “They are aware of the benefits of cycling and would come forward to use them. It would help us overcome lifestyle disorders, while

Gov. Newsom’s call to produce only EVs by 2035 runs into a wall: Roadshow

Q: Gov. Gavin Newsom’s plan to produce only electric cars by 2035 will not work for poor people. Not only do auto manufacturers and dealers mark up electric cars to an insane level above their cost (last time I shopped, it was a $6,000 to $8,000 premium), but all the savings have to be paid upfront in the form of the inflated price of a new car and is a handicap for poor people. This is just another case of class warfare in California.

A: Today, we hear from those skeptical that the 2035 change will work.

Q: Hah! Talk about toeing the party line. I was amused by Gov. Newsom’s call to produce only electric vehicles by 2035. Where pray tell, will those gigawatts come from? The mythical land of Oz?
