St. Cloud man dies in single-vehicle crash near Richmond, Minn.

A St. Cloud man died Monday when he drove off the road in Stearns County and struck a road sign and several trees, the State Patrol said.

Brad Grunig, 45, was eastbound on Hwy. 23 when his Mercury MKZ went off the road near Becker Lake Circle west of Richmond, Minn., at 3:42 p.m., authorities said.

Grunig, who was not wearing a seat belt, was the lone occupant in the vehicle. Alcohol appeared to have been a factor, according to the patrol.

The crash remained under investigation Tuesday.

Davenport man, 67, dies of injuries from crash involving car stolen in Tampa

A 67-year-old Davenport man died Saturday from injuries he received Wednesday in a four-vehicle crash west of Walt Disney World involving a Honda SUV stolen from Tampa.

The victim suffered critical injuries when the stolen car vehicle ran a red light and crashed into the driver’s side door of the Honda Ridgeline pickup truck he was driving, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The agency did not release the name of the victim because of its interpretation of Marsy’s Law, a constitutional amendment passed by voters in 2018 that is meant to protect crime victims but deprives the public of information that had long been made available under Florida’s public records law.

Woman, 35, dies after being shot in vehicle in Parkside; two hurt in Reisterstown Station shooting

A 35-year-old woman was pronounced dead after being shot Thursday night in the Parkside neighborhood in Northeast Baltimore, according to Baltimore City Police.

Police were dispatched at approximately 7:15 p.m. to an area hospital to investigate a shooting victim who was dropped off in need of emergency medical intervention, the department wrote in a news release.

Officers arrived at the hospital and observed a woman suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. The victim was pronounced dead by medical personnel shortly after arrival.

Homicide detectives were summoned and assumed control over the investigation. Investigators received information that the incident occurred in the 4300 block of Brehms Lane after gunmen shot the victim while she sat inside of a parked vehicle.

Ohio man dies after a crash involving a bicycle

SYLVANIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio – A man is dead after a crash involving a bicycle in northwest Ohio Thursday.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash happened on Brint Road, west of Centennial Road in Sylvania Township, Lucas County just after 3:30 p.m.

A 2009 Dodge Avenger, driven by a 17-year-old from Sylvania, was traveling eastbound on Brint Rd, near the marked crossing for the Quarry Ridge Trail. Investigators said James Turner, 79, also of Sylvania, was riding a bicycle eastbound on the bike trail and failed to yield the right of way and entered into the path of the Avenger.

After the car and bicycle collided, Turner was ejected from his bicycle and came to rest along the south side of Brint Rd along with the Avenger. Turner died in the crash.

The juvenile driver of the car was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt. Investigators said Turner

Lorain man dies after crashing motorized bicycle into utility pole, police say

LORAIN, Ohio — A 40-year-old man died after crashing his motorized bicycle into a utility pole Tuesday afternoon, police say.

Michael Mahan of Lorain died in the crash that happened just after 1 p.m. at the intersection of Fulton Road and East 28th Street, Lorain police said in a news release.

Mahan was thrown from the bike after he lost control during a left-hand turn onto East 28th Street and crashed into a utility pole, police said.

MetroHealth LifeFlight took Mahan to the hospital where he later died from his injuries, police said.

Mahan was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

This crash marks the fifth fatal crash in Lorain, police said, and is under investigation.

A toddler named Sayah Deal died in Las Vegas on Monday after she was left in a car and her father reportedly refused to allow anyone to break a window to get her out.

People reported that 27-year-old Sidney Deal was arrested following the incident. Both Deal’s brother and law enforcement tried to smash the car’s windows to save the 1-year-old girl, but Deal refused.

“He immediately took his shirt off, wrapped it around his knuckles and was ready to punch the window,” according to the police report. “Sidney stopped him and said he wanted to wait for a tow truck. Sidney insisted he not damage his new vehicle, stating he had just bought the car and did not have the money to repair a broken window.”

When Sidney Deal found his 1-year-old daughter locked inside his new car Monday afternoon, he asked his girlfriend to call his insurance company about sending a locksmith, the Las Vegas Sun reported.

But after 20 minutes of haggling over the cost, Deal told her to hang up and went outside to flag down a passing police officer at 3:30 p.m., according to the publication.

Oklahoma Man Dies After Being Hit by Car in Church Parking Lot On His 85th Birthday

An Oklahoma man was tragically killed in an accident outside of his church on his 85th birthday.

Dr. Clyde Cain was leaving a Bible study at the First Baptist Church of Edmond on Tuesday morning when one of his friends accidentally hit him with his car, Fox 25 reported.

Edmond police told the outlet that Cain was a regular at the church’s Tuesday morning men’s prayer breakfast, which he was leaving when the driver did not see him and struck Cain with his vehicle.

The incident is currently under investigation, Fox 25 reported, and there is no evidence that the driver was impaired or had intent on hitting Cain. Police are reportedly investigating Cain’s death as an accident, but any charges would go through the District Attorney.
