On Jan. 16, a Thursday, I was climbing into bed at about 9:45 p.m., and I happened to look at my phone. Somebody had sent me a Facebook post about a car that was being auctioned off in Arizona on that day. It was a 1961 Sunbeam racing car that had competed at the 12 Hours of Sebring endurance race in 1962 and 1963. It got my attention, but I presumed the car had already sold.
